Opinion about the preview area of AdultRental.com

In the pre­view sec­tion of Adult Rental you have to deci­de if you want to choo­se the ent­rance for hete­ro­se­xu­als or for gays & les­bi­ans. Since I am a straight guy, I chose this option.

At the top of the page you will find a bar with New Releases, Categories, Top Videos, Porn Stars, Porn Studios and Other but­tons. The page is domi­na­ted by cover pho­tos of DVDs from the „Most Popular“ cate­go­ry. Below that you will find „Recommended Categories“, fur­ther down „Newest Videos“ and at the very bot­tom „Featured Studios“. What I like about the pre­view sec­tion is that there is a free trai­ler for each title that you can watch wit­hout registering.

However, the dis­ad­van­ta­ge is the fact that you can only watch 5 free trai­lers per day. In addi­ti­on, the trai­lers are only a few seconds long and give litt­le infor­ma­ti­on about the con­tent of the film

To sign up, you have to click on the red „Join Now“ but­ton and deci­de whe­ther you want to sign up as a straight (Join Straight) or as a join gay (gays, les­bi­ans). I sel­ec­ted „Straight.“

If the pay­ment was suc­cessful, you are taken to a page where you can see details of the boo­king, login details and boo­king num­ber. Unfortunately, you can’t print the page becau­se it only pops up for a few seconds (hint: screen­shot). Immediately you will be redi­rec­ted to a wel­co­me page with the title „YOU’RE AWESOME!“. By cli­cking the but­ton „Watch Top Movies Now“ you enter the mem­ber area.

Test – Review Member Area

The mem­ber area is almost iden­ti­cal to the pre­view area. When sear­ching for spe­ci­fic titles, you can use seve­ral opti­ons. For exam­p­le, you will be shown the most popu­lar and the newest movies. Some of them have the cur­rent date. However, this does­n’t mean that they have just been released, but rather the date when they were added to the online video store. Additionally, you can search for inte­res­t­ing titles in the indi­vi­du­al cate­go­ries or enter a keyword.

Based on my first impres­si­on, the web­site looks pret­ty old-fashioned. The search opti­ons are very limi­t­ed. For exam­p­le, you can only find the most important cate­go­ries, such as Lesbian, Orgy or Cream Pies. Important cate­go­ries such as natio­na­li­ty or eth­ni­ci­ty are miss­ing or only repre­sen­ted to a limi­t­ed extent.

The search for key­words is also not very pro­duc­ti­ve. If you enter seve­ral words, appar­ent­ly only the first one is accept­ed. All others are not con­side­red. Only English is offe­red as the dis­play lan­guage. Actually, I would have expec­ted from a pro­vi­der from the EU that you can sel­ect seve­ral lan­guages, for exam­p­le French, German and Spanish. Apparently, the site is pri­ma­ri­ly ori­en­ted towards the US mar­ket. Even the tele­pho­ne hot­line is a num­ber in the USA.

Quality & impression of the videos

According to the pro­vi­der, AdultRental.com has just under 85,000 vide­os available. Naturally, I was inte­res­ted to see how many of them were German movies. When I ente­red „German“ in the key­word search, just 55 titles pop­ped up. However, this in no way means that they are German titles, but rather that the word „German“ appears some­whe­re in the text. For exam­p­le, the title „Canadian Butt Sluts“ also came up in the search. What that has to do with German, I don’t know.

Compared to other VoD pro­vi­ders, it is noti­ceable that you can appar­ent­ly only watch the vide­os in stream. Despite an inten­si­ve search, I did not find a down­load opti­on any­whe­re. As always, I tes­ted the tech­ni­cal qua­li­ty of the movies on my 3 devices, a lap­top with Linux Ubuntu, a net­book with Windows 10 and an Android smart­phone. Fortunately, the movies ran on all 3 devices.

However, the qua­li­ty on the Linux lap­top left a lot to be desi­red. You have the choice bet­ween medi­um reso­lu­ti­on with 480 pixels and HD with 720 pixels. From the visu­al impres­si­on, howe­ver, the lat­ter opti­on was by no means HD. Loading the movies takes a while. It was par­ti­cu­lar­ly annoy­ing that there were dro­pouts every few minu­tes, even though I have a very fast Internet con­nec­tion with 100 Mbit/s. The pic­tu­re ran smooth­ly on the smart­phone, but the sound drop­ped out every now and then.

Most of the movies are pro­fes­sio­nal­ly shot movies with expe­ri­en­ced actors. The dia­logs are all in the ori­gi­nal lan­guage of the stu­dio that shot the film, most­ly in English. However, since you can’t search spe­ci­fi­cal­ly for lan­guages, you can only tell if it’s a German film by the title or the name of the studio.

What I found annoy­ing is that the view­er seems to be deli­bera­te­ly decei­ved about the con­tent of the films. I loo­ked into 2 flicks in the Cream Pie cate­go­ry, but both fea­tured Facial Cumshots, not Cream Pie, even though the title expli­cit­ly men­tio­ned Cream Pie.
The acting in the pro­fes­sio­nal films is good, as you would expect from flicks made by a studio.

The ama­teur films, on the other hand, often have pro­blems with came­ra work and light­ing (too dark). Sometimes the sound is too low and dia­lo­gues are almost lost in the accom­pany­ing music 

Under each film there is a short sum­ma­ry in English, a few tags and pos­si­bly the name of the stu­dio. Compared to other pro­vi­ders, howe­ver, the infor­ma­ti­on is very limi­t­ed. For lesser-known films, even the names of the actors are miss­ing. Even with com­pi­la­ti­ons of seve­ral DVDs, only three sce­nes are offe­red for sel­ec­tion. If you are loo­king for a spe­ci­fic scene, you have to use the play­er’s fast-forward or rewind func­tion and search manually.

Opinions on page layout & design

Somewhat irri­ta­ting is the fact that on the main page and in the over­view the back­ground is white. If you switch to a spe­ci­fic movie, the back­ground chan­ges to black. Frustrating for me is espe­ci­al­ly the poor­ly struc­tu­red search. If you have spe­cial inte­rests, you need to know eit­her the exact title of the movie or the name of the porn star to find it immediately.

If not, the only opti­on is to click through wha­t’s available in each main cate­go­ry. This is annoy­ing and time-consuming. It is simi­lar with porn stars. Only the top 50 models are dis­play­ed with pho­tos. For the others, you have to click through the let­ters of the alpha­bet and then get a list of names with that initi­al letter.

At least there is a smart­phone and tablet opti­mi­zed ver­si­on of the web­site, which ran flaw­less­ly on my smart­phone. Thanks to Google’s syn­chro­niza­ti­on, I was able to log in effort­less­ly on all devices wit­hout having to enter the pass­word every time.

Review verdict & conclusion of the AdultRental.com test report

Compared to other sex VoD por­tals, AdultRental.com is in the mid­field. I con­sider the rela­tively large offer with 85,000 por­nos to be posi­ti­ve. You won’t be annoy­ed by ads while sur­fing and you don’t have to be afraid of war­nings becau­se of copy­right infringement.

All offers are also free of viru­s­es and mal­wa­re. The month­ly mem­ber­ship opti­on is very afforda­ble. For less than 15 EUR, you prac­ti­cal­ly get a porn flat rate with 2,500 minu­tes per month, which you can use wit­hout any rest­ric­tions. Other pro­vi­ders are much more expensive.

Unfortunately, you can’t down­load the porn movies, but only watch them in stream.
